Hollywood School in Ukraine
Dear Ms. Voloshyna and Mr. Slesarenko,
There is no doubt that the Hollywood School in Ukraine is a unique and a very important social and educational project for our country.
Decades of successful activity have allowed the Hollywood moviemaking industry to accrue priceless experience, thanks to which it not only maintains leading position in the world cinema, but also continues to develop and educate new talented specialists.
It is the Hollywood School in Ukraine that will prepare professionals who will be able to take their deserved place on shooting lots during accomplishment of joint Ukrainian-American projects. I hope that the School will also pay special attention to populairzing the Ukrainian language on screen, as it is a spiritual basis for artistic and creative accomplishments of Ukrainian people.
The extremely important feature of the School is that it provides equal chances to all students, regardless their sex, race, origin and social or economic status. It is the only way for the Ukrainian film industry to find genuine talent, facilitate its realization, its professional formation and growth, and to restore the Ukrainian filmmaking to the high artistic level it used to be at.
I would like to send my greetings and best wishes to all representatives of the Hollywood industry and my countrymen, who joined together in accomplishment of this important endeavor, as well as to express my support of the idea to set up such a School. We hereby undertake to provide intellectual and organizational support of this project, both through the cooperation with our magazine “Kino-Teatr”, and through the fundamental and special courses, which are taught at the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy ".
